Stuck in Perfectionism?
Why is it that as aspiring lightworkers, healers, creatives we expect ourselves to be incredible straight away? There’s an expectation that you’re either ‘gifted’ or not. Its not as black and white as that.
Famous athletes - they weren’t just born that way, it took lots of coaching, training, losing races, determination, perseverance and continued commitment.
Famous musicians - they didn’t play for the first time and then become an overnight success. They had to learn the instrument, take lessons, spend hours playing and practising. Continued, growth, practise, perseverance and commitment. Plenty of bad songs, off tune notes and literally playing the same song over and over before they nailed it.
Why do you expect your first attempt, first session, first newsletter, first post to be a viral sensation? Why do you expect your first drawing to be a masterpiece? Your first painting to be gallery worthy? Your first writing to be a published poem?
It takes practise, it takes refining your skill, it requires plenty of bad or average paintings/drawings/poems/sessions/workshops. It requires you to be a beginner FIRST. It requires you to be awkward as hell on the dance floor to find your very own groove.
Allow yourself to be a beginner. Let go of needing to be perfect in order to start.
Perfectionism is your sneaky self sabotage at play and its getting in the way of you sharing your light.
Can you be a little kinder to yourself and give yourself permission,
to be beginner.
